The Philippines is an island (7,100 of them) country in East Asia below Hong Kong. We have approximately 65 million people, and because of the geographical nature of our land, fishing or some form of aquaculture has been in practice for a long time. Outside of the catches from the open seas, inland aquaculture (inland ponds) consisted mostly of raising milkfish and shrimps/prawns, mainly for local consumption.
